The Medical Genetics Center of Asan Medical Center (AMC) held the Annual Conference of Medical Genetics & Genomics online on November 24 under the theme of ‘Bio Big Data Construction on Rare Diseases.’ More than 150 domestic and foreign professionals, including Professor Mark Caulfield from the Queen Mary University of London, U.K. and Professor Kei Murayama of Chiba Children's Hospital, Japan, participated to present and discuss the current status of ▲ national project of bio big data construction, ▲ rare disease prevention management, ▲ the role of genetic counselor, ▲ latest treatment of neurofibromatosis, and more. The conference is held every year to commemorate the expansion and reorganization in 2011 of the Medical Genetics Center, which opened in 1991 as a clinic to study rare genetic diseases.
