NEWS International delegations visit Asan Medical Center to learn about the know-hows in diverse fields 2022.12.16

The delegation from the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) visited Asan Medical Center (AMC) on November 30. GHSA is an international consultative body launched in 2014 to combat national health security threats such as SARS, MERS, COVID-19, new infectious diseases, and bioterrorism. The visit was organized by participants at the GHSA Ministerial Meeting in Seoul to tour the Center for Infection Control (CIC) and learn about the know-how in operating facilities such as infectious disease emergency rooms and negative pressure operating rooms.

 

Sixteen GHSA visitors, including Dr. Wilhelmina Jallah, the Minister of Health of Liberia, Dr. John Chamunrowa mangwiro, the Deputy Minister of Health and Child Care of Zimbabwe, Dr. Yihenew Yirdaw Abera, the Section Chief of National Covid-19 Response and Wash of Ethiopia, and Lt Col. Timothy Bucher, the INDOPACOM Division Chief of Biological Threat Reduction Program of the IS Department of Defense, met with the Vice President & Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Je-Hwan Lee and Director Sung-Han Kim of the Office for Infection Control.

 

On November 29, a delegation from Siloam International Hospital in Indonesia visited AMC. Siloam International Hospital is Indonesia's largest hospital with a total of 41 hospitals in 30 cities and 21 regions. Seven visitors, including Dr. Grace Frelita Indradjaja, the Chief Medical of Siloam Hospital, and Dr. Anang Prayudi, the CFO of Siloam Hospital, discussed mutual cooperation measures with Director In-Ho Jeon of Asan Medical International and toured the International Healthcare Center and Health Screening & Promotion Center.

 

On December 12, executives from Samitivej Hospital in Thailand visited AMC. Samitivej Hospital opened in 1979 and operates seven hospitals in Thailand and one in Myanmar. Six visitors, including CEO Chairat Panthuraamphom and Dr. Surapong Lookhanumanjao of Business Development and Project Director, visited the outpatient clinic of AMC Children's Hospital, pediatric emergency center, and neonatal intensive care units to discuss hospital operation strategies and Children's Hospital operation status.
