The total number of patients who visited Asan Medical Center (AMC) in 2022 was 3,607,690. This is the highest record in history, which has shown a steady increase since 2017 to reach 3,100,479 in 2020 and 3,589,623 in 2021.

 

By patient type, 3,456,843 were outpatients and 150,847 were inpatients. Compared to 3,439,834 outpatients and 149,789 inpatients in 2021, the numbers increased by 0.49% and 0.7%, respectively.  The number of new patients in 2022 was 205,127, which has increased by 2.9% from 199,308 in 2021. The number of surgeries performed in 2022 was 69,542, marking a decrease of 3.2% from the previous year.

 

The number of international patients treated in AMC last year was 17,835 which recorded an increase of 31.3% compared to 13,587 in 2021. By patient type, 16,704 were outpatients, 520 were inpatients and 611 came for health screening. The numbers by nationality are as follows: 4,298 (24.1%) from the U.S.; 3,197 (17.9%) from the UAE; 2,917 (16.3%) from Mongolia; 1,142 (6.4%) from China; 983 (5.5%) from Kazakhstan; 724 (4.1%) from Vietnam; and, 555 (3.1%) from Saudi Arabia.
