On February 5, Asan Medical Center held the 10th Ophthalmology Symposium with presentations and lecture topics such as ▲ updates on macular diseases, ▲ dry eye, and ▲ cataracts and refractive surgery. This year, in particular, the symposium was more meaningful as a retirement ceremony was held for Professor Hungwon Tchah and Professor Young Hee Yoon who have made great contributions to the development of ophthalmology, where the attendees took time to look back on their research experience and achievements.

Also, Professor Mark S. Humayun from the University of Southern California, US and Professor Shigeru Kinoshita from Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine, Japan shared their insights on ‘Retinal implants for Vision Restoration’ and ‘Toward Corneal Regenerative Medicine,’ respectively.

Professor Joo Yong Lee, the Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology, said, “Renowned international speakers were invited to the symposium, which was arranged to share advanced clinical practices and research experience in retina and cornea fields. I hope it will be a meaningful time of discussing the latest and relevant information.”
