Professors Yoon-Koo Kang, Sook Ryun Park, and Changhoon Yoo of the Division of Oncology of Asan Medical Center presented various research findings on chemotherapy strategies at the American Society of Clinical Oncology Annual Meeting (ASCO 2023) held in Chicago, USA from June 2 to 6. ASCO is the world's most prestigious cancer society and is attended by approximately 45,000 global chemotherapy experts from around the world to share the latest cancer treatments and research trends.

At the conference, ▲Professor Yoon-Koo Kang presented the results of a study confirming that perioperative chemotherapy prolongs overall survival in resectable locally advanced gastric cancer, ▲Professor Sook Ryun Park presented the results of a clinical study on fecal microbiota transplantation from patients who responded well to cancer immunotherapy into cancer immunotherapy-resistant patients, and ▲Professor Changhoon Yoo presented the results of an evaluation and analysis of patients' quality of life when pembrolizumab was added to gemcitabine and cisplatin in patients with unresectable locally advanced or metastatic biliary tract cancer, which all received great responses from attendees.
