On November 21, Asan Medical Center signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Makati Medical Center in the Philippines. Makati Medical Center is a 600-bed private hospital in Manila, the capital of the Philippines.

The signing ceremony was attended by Professor Seung-Il Park, the President of Asan Medical Center, Professor Kun Suk Kim, the Vice President & Chief Education Officer (CEdO) of Asan Medical Center, as well as Dr. Saturnino Javier, the President & CEO of Makati Medical Center. Also present were six medical staff members of the liver transplant team at Makati Medical Center, currently undergoing training at Asan Medical Center, along with Professor Ki-Hun Kim of the Division of Liver Transplantation and Hepatobiliary Surgery, who is supervising the training.

President Seung-Il Park stated, "Through this MOU, we hope that the collaborative relationship between the two hospitals will contribute to the advancement of the medical field."
