Asan Medical Center announced that J.Y. Park (singer and executive producer of JYP Entertainment), recently donated 200 million won in personal wealth to support pediatric and adolescent patients in need. J.Y. Park donated 200 million won each to five hospitals in Korea, including Asan Medical Center, for a total of 1 billion won to support medical expenses for vulnerable children and adolescents.
J.Y. Park stated, "I also have two daughters, aged 3 and 4. As a father raising children, it is heartbreaking to think about how challenging it must be for many children just to be sick but also to lack financial resources for medical treatment. With the hope that we can become a source of strength by coming together as one to support the hearts of these children and the parents looking after them, I have decided to donate funds directly to the hospital, so that the funds can be used for the medical treatment of children in need of financial assistance."
He continued, "I chose to make this donation officially because, upon hearing this news, it provides an opportunity for fans to join in and contribute to a good cause, spreading positive impact even further. Rather than making grand statements, I earnestly request that the donated funds be used solely to help these vulnerable children."
Asan Medical Center plans to use J.Y. Park's donation for the treatment of severe and rare incurable diseases, as well as rehabilitation for pediatric and adolescent patients under the age of 24 who are facing adversity.
Meanwhile, in May, JYP Entertainment, where J.Y. Park serves as a producer, donated 200 million won for the medical expenses of pediatric and adolescent patients in need at Asan Medical Center, as part of its social contribution initiative, ‘EDM (Every Dream Matters!).’
