The 10th Surgical Critical Care Symposium was held at Asan Medical Center on January 18. Attended by over 150 medical professionals from South Korea and abroad, the symposium featured presentations and discussions on topics such as successful treatment strategies for peritonitis, short bowel syndrome, and vascular management strategies for trauma patients. Notably, special lectures were delivered by Professor David M Notrica from the University of Arizona College of Medicine on ‘The ATOMAC+ guidelines for the management of children with blunt abdominal trauma’ and Professor Craig Cooppersmith from the Emory University School of Medicine on ‘Sepsis guideline update.’ Their lectures left a great impression on attendees.
Professor Suk-Kyung Hong, Chair of the Division of Acute Care Surgery, remarked, “Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Surgical Critical Care Symposium has become a venue for sharing in-depth knowledge and experience.”
