Nils Heldt, Global Head and Senior Vice President at Roche, along with other executive leadership of Global Clinical Development of Roche, visited Asan Medical Center on June 5. In 2015, Asan Medical Center signed an agreement with Roche to join imCORE (International Multi-disciplinary Centers of Oncology Research Excellence), a global network of leading hospitals dedicated to cancer immunotherapy research, and has since collaborated as a strategic research and development partner.
The visit was organized to explore ways to enhance collaboration between the two institutions and discuss future global operational strategies. The Roche delegation met with key research leaders at Asan Medical Center such as Chairman Tae Won Kim of Asan Institute for Life Sciences & Chief Research Officer, and Chief Director Joon Woo Bahn of Clinical Trial Center, as well as specialists from the Division of Oncology, Department of Pathology, and Biomedical Research Center. The two sides shared updates on Asan Medical Center’s achievements in cancer research and treatment, research infrastructure, and exchanged ideas on Roche’s progress in new drug development and future R&D plans.
