Professor Won Gu Kim of the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism from Asan Medical Center received the prestigious Nagataki Prize from the Asia and Oceania Thyroid Association (AOTA) during the 17th International Thyroid Congress (ITC), held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from June 18 to 22.

The Nagataki Prize is presented to a distinguished researcher who has made significant contributions to the advancement of thyroidology in the Asia-Oceania region. Professor Won Gu Kim was recognized for his significant academic contributions in the field of biomarker research for the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid cancer.

On June 22, Professor Won Gu Kim delivered a commemorative lecture presenting the key findings of his research.
