▲ The 'Outcomes Book' of Asan Medical Center 

Asan Medical Center has recently published the ‘Outcomes Book’, which presents treatment performance by cancer type. This edition includes both quantitative and qualitative indicators for urologic cancers for prostate, kidney, and bladder such as the number of surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation treatments, five-year survival rates by stage, and the proportion of minimally invasive surgeries.

The ‘Outcomes Book’ was first released last year, covering liver, colorectal, gastric, breast, and lung cancers. Over the next four years, treatment outcomes for a total of 14 cancer centers will be compiled and published, with annual updates by cancer type beginning in 2028. Starting with this year’s edition, survival rates across all stages (0–IV) have been included, reflecting not only surgical outcomes but also those of patients who received other treatments.

President Si Yeol Song of AMC Cancer Institute said, “By analyzing treatment outcomes by cancer type, we aim to improve the quality of care and provide patients with objective information that strengthens trust.”
