Asan Medical Center Becomes First Korean Institution to Partner with ICHOM

Asan Medical Center has entered into a partnership with the International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement (ICHOM), a global nonprofit organization leading the development of international standards for patient reported outcome measures (PROMs).

ICHOM develops and promotes disease specific, patient centered outcome measures that define and standardize clinical outcomes and quality of life indicators that matter most to patients. To date, 49 standard sets have been developed and are being used by more than 500 institutions in over 60 countries. Asan Medical Center is the first institution in Korea to establish a partnership with ICHOM.

Through this partnership, Asan Medical Center plans to strengthen the clinical implementation and management of PROMs by utilizing ICHOM’s standard protocols and data utilization guidelines. By joining the ICHOM global network, the medical center also aims to establish a clear direction for advancing value based healthcare and further refine its implementation strategies.
