On July 15, 2026, Asan Medical Center signed a Memorandum of Understanding with U.S.-based UCLA Health, an academic medical center located in Los Angeles, California, to expand international exchange in medicine, research, and education. The relationship builds on medical and general staff training, as well as academic exchanges, that the two institutions have maintained.

Clinical and administrative staff from Asan Medical Center are participating in observership programs at UCLA Health in 2026. The institutions also plan to expand short-term visits by faculty and specialists and academic information exchange, and to jointly develop leadership training and translational research programs.
