Asan Foundation (Chairman Chung Mong-Joon) donated $200,000 in relief funds through the Korean Red Cross on September 7 to support flood victims in Nepal.
The donation will be used for emergency relief and recovery efforts, including the provision of food, essential supplies, and medical assistance.
Asan Foundation has provided relief funds whenever major disasters have occurred overseas, including a $400,000 donation through the Korean Red Cross for earthquake recovery efforts in Türkiye and Syria in 2023. To date, Asan Foundation has provided approximately KRW 2.1 billion in overseas relief support, including assistance for Ukrainian refugees and ethnic Koreans in 2022, tsunami recovery in Indonesia in 2018, earthquake recovery in Nepal in 2015, typhoon relief in the Philippines in 2013, flood recovery in Pakistan in 2010, and tsunami recovery in Sri Lanka in 2006.
Asan Foundation has also continued to support disaster recovery and relief efforts in Korea. From 2022 to 2025, it donated KRW 800 million to support victims of wildfires and floods in Gangwon and Gyeongbuk provinces, KRW 1 billion in 2020 to support efforts to overcome the COVID 19 pandemic, and KRW 100 million in 2019 to provide relief for wildfire victims in Gangwon Province.
