Introduction

AMC Provides Care to 750 Patients in Northern Mongolia

More than 400 kilometers from Mongolia’s capital, Ulaanbaatar, residents in the northern region have limited access to specialized cancer care. To help address this gap, a medical team from Asan Medical Center traveled to the region, provided care to approximately 750 patients, and supported local healthcare capacity building through services ranging from biopsies to medical staff training.

AMC Tops Asia Pacific Clinical Specialty Rankings

In the “Best Specialized Hospitals Asia Pacific 2026” rankings announced on June 18 (Thursday) by Newsweek, Asan Medical Center ranked No. 1 in five clinical specialties: cardiology, cardiac surgery, neurology, endocrinology, and orthopedics. Asan Medical Center was the hospital with the highest number of No. 1 rankings among hospitals from 11 Asia Pacific countries evaluated.

AMC Ranked World’s Top 10 in Six Clinical Specialties

Asan Medical Center, operated by the Asan Foundation (Chairman Chung Mong-Joon), was ranked among the world’s top 10 hospitals in six clinical specialties in Newsweek’s 2026 evaluation of the World’s Best Hospitals by Specialty. This marks the highest number of specialties ranked in the global top 10 among hospitals in Korea.
