AMC Tops Asia Pacific Clinical Specialty Rankings
In the “Best Specialized Hospitals Asia Pacific 2026” rankings announced on June 18 (Thursday) by Newsweek, Asan Medical Center ranked No. 1 in five clinical specialties: cardiology, cardiac surgery, neurology, endocrinology, and orthopedics. Asan Medical Center was the hospital with the highest number of No. 1 rankings among hospitals from 11 Asia Pacific countries evaluated.
AMC Achieves 20,000 Cerebral Aneurysm Treatments
Cerebral aneurysms, often referred to as a “ticking time bomb in the brain,” occur when a weakened area of a blood vessel wall in the brain becomes enlarged like a balloon. Because they usually cause no symptoms before rupture, they are difficult to detect. However, once ruptured, they can lead to brain hemorrhage and become life threatening. Therefore, early detection and preventive treatment before rupture, as well as emergency treatment after rupture, are crucial.

AMC Ranked World’s Top 10 in Six Clinical Specialties
Asan Medical Center, operated by the Asan Foundation (Chairman Chung Mong-Joon), was ranked among the world’s top 10 hospitals in six clinical specialties in Newsweek’s 2026 evaluation of the World’s Best Hospitals by Specialty. This marks the highest number of specialties ranked in the global top 10 among hospitals in Korea.
